This year’s Oscars fashions prove to be a celebration of individual style and form. The Men took to the carpet in every form of tuxedo from traditional adapted ascots euro tight suits to Maitre D. Even this year’s Oscars host, Comedian Ellen Degeneres, added to the mix.
Women’s fashions showed grace and simplistic style this year. The lines were clean, classic and beautiful to the eye. There were no outrageous statements of gravity-defying construction of wardrobe, even the ritualistic doughty stars choose graceful soft feminine styles by Lanvin (MS).
The new faces(LN) looked like fresh-picked flowers and beautiful birds in celebration of the female form…from fragile to voluptous. This was a year when movie stars wore gowns worthy being called “movie star quality.” “It was old Hollywood in a time that old never sounds good or is referred to….it was very good.

Lupita Nyong’o stole the show with with her flawless ebony skin and beautiful fragile form draped perfectly.
Kate Blanchet rarely disappoints, and stunned again in Armani. Julia Roberts with “pretty” but a bit off in proportion in black lace peplum Givency.
On the other hand PD Rossis laser cut gown was stunning as well as unique. Angelina Jolie chose a doughty look this year-mother of the bride comes to mind.

Naomi Watts, on the other hand was crystal clear, flawless and again….stunning in its simplicity.
Amy Adams was on of my favorites in Gucci. She was a perfect pillar, a vision in navy form -itting envelope fold details. This dress was Grace Kelly elegance.
Unfortunatel,y some fell prey to over-design as was the case in Anna Kendricks dress by J. Mendel. This dress made veiwers wonder where to look first, neckline..no middriff..no side slit…no…just look away. Back to prefection with Camila Alves gown by Gabriella Cadena. This dress was the appetamey od old Hollywood at its best.
Viola Davis chose a color of which dreams are made: A beautiful jade, but the dreams ended with fit structure and Great Gatsby hair as an accessory. We still love her with all her talent and grace.
Final note: short and sweet, this was an evening of beautiful fashions for those of use who embrace style appose to the shock actor.
It was an evening of beautiful fashion.
