On Cinco de Mayo, are those in the United States celebrating this Mexican holiday by eating what they think to be “traditional dishes?”
Folks in the United States tend to celebrate the holiday itself more than in Mexico, according to Businessinsider.
U.S. citizens tend to think that guacamole, chips and salsa, tacos and margaritas are the traditional foods for this day. However, the main reason we think this is because of mainstream marketing done by grocery stores and liquor stores.
According to Smithsonian Magazine, some of the traditional Mexican dishes for this day include Mole Poblano, chalupas, and chiles en nogada.
