A new song, “Lucha Libre,” performed by luchador masked group La Nueva Ola de Cumbia, whose singers’ origins span the entire Western Hemisphere, was released this week.
This new track aligns with La Nueva Ola’s identity as “masked wrestlers.” La Nueva Ola has built its mystique and visual personality in the world of wrestling. The song not only pays tribute to the real wrestlers but also to their own DNA as artists.

“Lucha Libre” transforms the arena into a metaphor to honor those who get up every day to work, those who don’t give up, even if life is difficult from the start. The track features motivational lyrics with a powerful message: “Fight tirelessly for everything you want… but always, always, Lucha Libre.”
The opening lyrics go:
This is my neighborhood / That has my back / And I have its back.
La Nueva Ola de Cumbia, comprised of musicians from Mexico, Peru, Colombia and the U.S.A., specializes in “cumbiafying” the greatest hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. With over a decade of experience, they have entertained audiences at countless shows in stadiums, arenas and festivals.
