Bahrain may not be on the top of everyone’s travel bucket list, but the country has plenty to offer, not least its capital, Manama. A vibrant city with a blend of culture, cuisine and nice walks, it is a lovely place to unwind.

Manama caters to a variety of interests, so let’s take a look at what’s on offer at this destination.

Dining and Culinary Delights

The most important part of any evening for the would-be traveler is, of course, the food, and Manama can certainly deliver on this front. It offers several high-end dining options, from traditional, local food to international flavors that make visitors feel like they are at home.

Time Out Market Bahrain recently opened and provides a good mix of the best local food made by up-and-coming chefs. Any tourists in Bahrain should try as many of the specialties as they can, like machbous, a spiced rice dish with meat, or muhammar, sweet rice with dates.

Entertainment and Cultural Experiences

A popular destination with over 12 million visitors each year, international interest persists in the region and culture. This interest and influence has even crossed over to the entertainment sector. In the iGaming sector, we can see the region brought to life in the digital world on the Playstar casino app NJ.

Containing over 500 slot games with promotions and offers, users can play games like Arabian Nights. Complete with symbols like magic lamps and camels mixed with free spins and wild symbols, gamers can experience Arab culture in a virtual world. While in the movie sector, releases like A Bahraini Tale have brought Bahraini culture to international audiences.

It’s offerings like these that can entice travelers to the country. While visiting, they can attend events like the Bahrain International Music Festival. Usually held annually in October or November, the event brings together many genres, from classical to traditional Arab music.

Another notable event is the Spring of Culture Festival, with both local and international artists performing across multiple disciplines like dance, theater and music.

For a slightly different experience, and one to look out for for watersports enthusiasts, is the upcoming Bahrain Surf Park — Club Hawaii Experience taking place in the Bilaj Al Jazayer area. The park will power up to 1,000 waves an hour for surfers of all levels. Although an activity for the daytime, the areas around provide some pleasant walks as night falls.

Leisurely Walks and Scenic Spots

Whether it’s after a nice meal or show, a walk in Manama’s scenic areas is the ideal way to bring a close to the evening, especially along the waterfront. However, for those with the time to leave the city, Pearling Path is a nice setting for an evening stroll among the new and old architecture.

At two miles long, tourists can take in numerous historic sites like the Siyadi Complex and the Pearl Museum, getting a history lesson as they do. The path was intentionally built to take in the most interesting aspects of the area, so it makes for an unforgettable tourist experience.

An evening in Manama can offer visitors a wealth of different attractions catering to the tastes of any traveler. Whatever they decide upon, it’s likely one night won’t be enough.
