Ruth VanReken is a second generation Third Culture Adult.  Though she lives in Indiana, it was a long time before she called it home. Co-Author of Third Culture Kids: Growing up Among Worlds, and Author of Letters Never Sent, she is often viewed as the mother of the Global Nomad movement.  In this TED Global talk, she talks about how her experience is more and more becoming the norm.

Third Culture Kids are those children who grow up in a culture that is different from their parents’ culture. The number of TCKs has increased as never before in History.  Ruth Van Reken shares her insight on the griefs and gains of being the Third Culture Kid.
