In the last of our three-part series on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” we talk about the two feather serpent gods of Mexico — Quetzalcoatl and Kukulkan — and close out by having our panelists provide their cross-cultural perspectives on the film as a whole and where they suggest Marvel go next as a follow-up to this film.

Panelist Diana Vega loved the representation of her native Yucatan province in Mexico. She would love a future Marvel movie with Tenoch Huerta as the main character with more Indigenous Mexican actors.

Isis Asare looks forward to seeing how Marvel incorporates T’challa’s son in future movies, while John Liang loved how the Mayan language was used in the film. Doni Aldine eagerly anticipates more Wakanda-Talocan interactions, and Hayden Greene loved how the movie made certain statements about world cultures.

This topic was so good it merited three episodes! From cultural perspectives, to discussing strategic alliances and culture vs. canon, Episode 5 keeps the conversation going.
