This video from ESPNFC introduces us to Baiana, women of Afro-Brazilian descent from Bahia who dress in traditional 19th century outfits and continue to sell local food in Salvador.
For these women, the food is an essential part of Brazil, and they keep the tradition alive. Rooted in slavery, their traditional dress and culinary skills may harken to days past, but they are solidly rooted in the country’s present.
