The Culturs Alchemist Awards celebrate the best and brightest of our in-between community. From Third Culture Kids and Military BRATs, to immigrants, mixed-race, multi-ethnic and Expats, we want to uplift and amplify the brightest minds, talents and visions of those often overlooked.

During a star-studded event in downtown Los Angeles, Calif., U.S.A., gen Z actor, producer and activist Yara Shahidi was the first-ever Alchemist Award recipient for her outstanding work in the field as well as in the community. She received a custom copper and clay bespoke Alchemist sculpture, crafted by Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK) artist Deidre Hardin.

As our inaugural recipient, Shahidi presented the Alchemist’s Heart, the official award of the Alchemist Awards, to two additional recipients: Heralded Third Culture Kid (TCK) author Ruth Van Reken and Genius in the Hood Sheila Thomas.
