“Gracie & Pedro: Pets To The Rescue,” an upcoming film that combines animation and live action, looks like it has themes that would resonate with Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and multicultural families.
The movie features two beloved pets who don’t get along and are thrown into an unexpected adventure after being separated from their multicultural family during a cross-country move.
Stranded in an unfamiliar land, pampered show dog Gracie, voiced by Claire Alan, and street-smart alley cat Pedro, voiced by Cory Doran, must put aside their differences and rely on each other to find their way home.
Along their journey, they meet colorful characters — voiced by stars including Susan Sarandon, Bill Nighy, Brooke Shields, Danny Trejo, Alicia Silverstone and Al Franken — and face daunting obstacles, ultimately discovering their shared determination and love for their family.
“At its core, this movie is about community, connection, and the power of joining forces for a shared cause — our love for pets,” says Kevin Donovan, the movie’s co-director.
“Gracie & Pedro: Pets To The Rescue” opens in U.S. theaters on October 18.
