Non-binary, genderfluid, pansexual Ugandan American actor, filmmaker and conservationist Paulina Lule is making waves in Hollywood, starring opposite Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker in MGM+’s upcoming series “Emperor of Ocean Park.”

“Emperor of Ocean Park,” based on Stephen Carter’s best-selling novel, follows Talcott Garland (Grantham Coleman) as he navigates the mysterious death of his father, Judge Oliver Garland (Forest Whitaker). Lule plays Kimmer Garland, Tal’s wife and a high-powered lawyer on the brink of a federal judgeship, who becomes embroiled in a conspiracy.

Lule’s multifaceted career spans notable roles in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “LOVE,” “The Good Place,” “Scandal,” “For the People” and “General Hospital.” They also starred in the critically acclaimed film “HONEY BOY” with Shia LaBeouf and Noah Jupe.

Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisc, U.S.A., Lule’s journey began at the Joanne Baron/DW Brown Studio and the Identity School of Acting, culminating in an MFA from Chapman University. As a filmmaker, Lule’s work has graced festivals such as the Austin Film Festival and Pan African Film Festival, earning accolades at the Bronze Lens Film Festival and Women in Film.

Lule is developing a deeply personal film set in Milwaukee’s Sherman Park, blending horror and social commentary on racism and the struggles of formerly incarcerated individuals. Beyond their artistic pursuits, Lule is a dedicated conservationist, working with the Zoological Society of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County Zoo’s Kohl’s Wild Theater Program, and teaching filmmaking and acting through Milwaukee Film.

“Emperor of Ocean Park” premieres Sunday, July 14th. Check out the trailer below.
