Dermablend Professional has been recognized as the expert in coverage cosmetics in the US for over 25 years. Founded by an American dermatologist in 1981, Dermablend has created a new campaign not only create awareness for their brand, but also to spread the word that everyone is beautiful in their own way because nobody is perfect.

Launched in March, 2014, Camo Confessions is a YouTube special campaign by Dermablend, asking men and women to expose their skin flaws in front of the camera in order to share a message.
Cheri Lindsay, an assistant volleyball coach at a college in Texas, lives with a skin condition called vitiligo. “My vitiligo started my sophomore year of college,” says Lindsay. “It was shocking to me at first because of how much came so fast, it’s not that easy to deal with…Can I still live with this and be successful? Hell yes!”
For Lindsay, being a black woman with vitiligo means that eventually all of her color skin pigment will be lost from areas of her skin. “So I’m going to be a white lady eventually,” joked Lindsay.
On the other hand, some viewers of this campaign publically commented that it is contradictory for Dermabled to ask you to expose your skin flaws on YouTube, but then promote a makeup product used to cover flaws, at the same time.
Whether it be makeup for on your skin or a campaign to promote beauty under it, Dermablend’s goal is to make those who use their products feel confident everyday. Their mission statement states: “Dermablend’s mission is to empower men and women of all ethnicities with high coverage needs so they can blend in to stand out.
