Integrate yoga and life

According to Google yoga is a “Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which — including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures — is widely practiced for health and relaxation.” To many people yoga is a practice or exercise but it can be much more than that.

Yoga can be a practice that takes only an hour of a person’s day and challenges and strengthens mind and body. It can be a person’s own escape from the stress of work, school and life. Yoga forms a community, whether it is with a person who practices with everyday, or running into someone on a plane who practices every once in a while.

To many people yoga is a practice or exercise but it can be much more than that.

It can be practiced for an hour with a class or in the comfort of ones own home, hotel room, or local gym. With sites like Yoga Journal, people can practice wherever to ease one’s body and mind and appreciate what their bodies can do for as much or as little time as they have to practice.

Breathing is also a very important part of yoga – the Ujjayi breath guides one through practice. There is an importance behind one’s breath like, 8 reasons Ujjayi breath is used and this breath guides one through his or her yoga practice. If someone is facing a stressful situation, sometimes the person just needs to take a step back and breathe.

Yoga can be used anywhere and with life being so hectic and travel becoming so stressful it is a beautiful thing to slow down the world and focus on oneself.

  1. I love that this article is such a quick read, but makes a lot of great points about the many ways yoga can benefit you!

  2. I am not much a Yoga fan, something about my ability to never really sit in silence for longer than 2 minutes, but I really liked this article! I really like the idea that Yoga can be used anywhere. With life being so hectic and travel becoming so stressful, it is a beautiful thing to slow down the world and focus on oneself. I hope to be able to translate to my own life one day! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I have never really considered doing yoga and I might be the least flexible person in the world but after reading this article, it sounds like there are a ton of great things about it, especially for a hectic college student.

  4. This is such a helpful article! As someone who just recently started doing yoga, the different sites you added are super nice for a beginner like me! I’ll be sure to check them out.

  5. I wish I could be more consistent when I do yoga, but I always feel great after doing it. Will definitely use some of these sites as a resource
