It’s that time of year again.
The MTV Movie Awards officially aired Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. EST, live from at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif., USA.
Hit artists Zedd, Ellie Goulding, and twenty one pilots were among performers that ran the stage on Sunday night, featuring songs like “Find You,” “Beating Heart,” and “Car Radio.”
But the main performance, and the talk of the town, featured Eminem and culturally-mobile Global Nomad Rihanna’s collaborative song “Monster.”
With 135,351,135 hits for the official Vevo music video on Youtube, and reaching the #1 spot on the Billboard top 100, Monster was a smash hit at the awards. The powerhouse duo Eminem and Rhi Rhi planned on kicking off their official “Monster Tour” with this first live performance of the song. Not a bad way to hit the ground running.

Celebrity Music Profile: Rihanna
Rihanna was born on Feb. 20, 1988 in Saint Micheal, Barbados to her mother, a woman of afro-guyanese descent, and her father, culturally-blended Barbadian Irishman. She grew up in a three-bedroom bungalow with her parents and three siblings, and faced a great deal of poverty in her early life. At 16-years-old, she left Barbados, and auditioned for Def Jam Records in 2005, where she was signed on the spot.
Rhianna is now the youngest artist to score 12 number one singles in the U.S. Her first album sold more than two million copies, and it’s undeniable this globally-savvy, culturally mobile artist is well on her way to becoming a musical legend.
Awesome job Sydney!
12 number one singles? It’s hard to believe Rhianna has been around long enough for that. It seems like just yesterday Pon De Replay was blowin up my radio.
