FLAVOR FIESTA for Cinco de Mayo

Carnitas Tacos

Sarah Carey of Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food has done it again!  This time we have two recipes in celebration of Cinco de Mayo — first up, Carnitas — a super-easy  celebratory twist on the traditional taco. Her version has “Tender but crispy pork, loaded with toppings.” Next, a sweet and creamy cinnamon Horchata traditional Mexican rice drink. Click below for the two videos — give the recipes a try and tell us what you think in the comments below!

The Daily Bite (Sarah’s quick tip)

Tortilla Know-How

Before using, you will want to soften your tortillas. You can do this by wrapping in foil and heating in the oven, or wrapping in a kitchen towel and heating in the microwave. But for the best flavor, toast directly over a gas flame until lightly charred on each side, then wrap in a clean kitchen towel to steam and soften.
