Cuban-American Fashion Dream Team: Isabel & Ruben Toledo
Park Grove held an exclusive sartorial event at their penthouse sales gallery. Isabel Toledo, the Cuban-American fashion designer who has designed for the likes of Michelle Obama and MAC Cosmetics, hosted a private show of curated spring looks from her upcoming 2015 collection at an exclusive gathering of fashion influencers and other tastemakers. Coconut Grove’s is the epitome of rich tradition and upscale bohemian living. The developers of Park Grove were very successful in marring inventive modern design with the areas cultural legacy by creating an ambiance that is luxurious and relaxed. It’s direct access to downtown Miami, Florida provides a sense of serenity and separation that made for the perfect location to host a luxury lifestyle fashion show. Later in the evening, 35 looks from Isabel Toledo’s 2015 Spring/Summer Collection gracefully went down the runway with long-length brocade printed dresses, avant-garde floppy headwear, and colorful hosiery. The textures, designs, minor feminine details, and wide array of colors that Isabel used, left the audience excited to see more, more, more.
Isabel Toledo followed-up her amazing show by mingling with guests and signing copies of her autobiography, Roots of Style which also includes illustrations by her husband and partner-in-crime, artist Ruben Toledo, who has designed postcards for Louis Vuitton. Ruben was commissioned by the properties developers to create original iconic illustrations for the Park Grove brand that now grace the project’s website, brochures, and marketing collateral.
